Explore Venice Through a Photographer’s Eye
📸 Venice Photography Workshops, Spring and Autumn 2026
In 2026, my private Venice photography workshops focus on one-to-one instruction built around real photographic practice rather than scripted photo stops. Each session adapts to season, light and your individual goals, helping you develop stronger composition, timing and visual awareness while working in real conditions.
Venice changes constantly throughout the year. Outside the busiest months, the city reveals its true structure, rhythm and atmosphere, offering ideal conditions for thoughtful photography and deeper observation.
I am a working photographer, editor and writer, and workshops are offered selectively in a private format. Every session is tailored to your level, whether you want to refine technique, strengthen visual discipline or experience Venice through a professional editorial approach.
Availability is limited and often short notice due to assignments and writing commitments. Please check current dates or get in touch to enquire.

My photography workshops are immersive and practical, designed around real shooting experience in the field:
📷 Hands-on photographic instruction
🗣️ Real-time image feedback
🧠 Tailored portfolio guidance
Each session adapts to your level, pace and photographic objectives. Photographers joining recent Venice workshops have worked in fog, low winter light and quiet early-morning conditions across the city, adapting daily to weather, season and experience level rather than following fixed photo-walk routes.

Marco Secchi accompanied us on the Sunrise photo walk- and what a wonderful experience it was! Marco, a renowned Getty photographer, is such a warm and kind individual. We learned so much from him. Marco loves sharing his knowledge not only about photography but about his hometown of Venice. It was truly the best way to capture the magic of the city. I left feeling more confident about my photography and also feeling as though we'd seen this iconic city with a friend. So grateful for this experience. Thank you Marco! (Tripadvisor)
I recently booked my wife a photo tour with Marco for her birthday. Marco was absolutely fantastic, he is such a nice person and a very attentive professional who made sure my wife got the best photographs as well as helpful advice.
This was certainly worth the money and the highlight of our visit to Venice. If you are interested in improving your photos and getting an insight into Venice then a tour with Marco Secchi is amazing value. (Tripadvisor)
This was definitely the highlight of our week in Venice. Marco is friendly informative and inspiring. A must! (Tripadvisor)
At last we've found the hidden treasure of Venice. My wife and I have been here many times and think we know its main delights.
But only recently have we found the internationally renowned photographer Marco Secchi who leads photographic-cum-walking tours of this wonderful city. (Tripadvisor)

🌅 5 Hours Pause. Reflect. Create
Pause. Reflect. Create is a five-hour photography workshop designed for photographers who want to slow down and make more intentional images. This is not about covering ground or chasing shots, but about learning how to arrive, observe, and recognise when a photograph is truly forming. Through guided walking, discussion, and focused shooting sessions, you’ll learn how to read light and space, anticipate moments, and edit before pressing the shutter. The aim is simple: fewer images, stronger photographs, and a clearer understanding of your own way of seeing.
Who this is NOT for
This workshop is not for photographers who want to shoot non-stop, tick off locations, or come home with hundreds of files.
It is not a photo walk, a sightseeing tour, or a social media content sprint.
It is not about gear, presets, or quick tricks.
And it is probably not for you if waiting, thinking, or not taking a photo feels uncomfortable.
If, however, you’re curious about slowing down, paying attention, and letting images emerge rather than forcing them, you’ll feel very much at home.
€600 for a private 6-hour session (up to 2 people)

Prefer to explore on your own?
Photographing Venice Intelligently
Photography in Venice is not about ticking locations but understanding light, timing and atmosphere.
For photographers who prefer to work independently, I created a guide built from years of scouting and editorial work across the city. It includes over 260 curated locations with precise pins, reference images and timing notes to help you plan and shoot more intentionally.
You’ll find quiet canals at dawn, reflective compositions, seasonal light opportunities and crowd-aware timing throughout Venice.
